KHC Communications Display - "You Have The World At Your Fingertips"

Kanabec History Center is home to a hands-on communications display called
"You Have The World At Your Fingertips"
This display was organized and put together by Wendy Quinn, with the help from courteous volunteers and donors. "You Have The World At Your Fingertips" explores the evolution of technology and communications, from typewriters to computers, rotary and candlestick telephones to touch screen smart phones.

All of the many accessions and loaned items featured in this display are from residents of Kanabec County and come with their own stories and history. Some star items this display includes are our Cinema Sound EK 3000 projector with slides depicting people, places, and events in Kanabec County; vinyl record player; and our Atari system on a Sony Trinitron Color TV from 1990, with the original Pac Man!

The best part of this display? It's completely hands-on! Visitors can type on our typewriters, pick up the old phones, flip through slides on the projector, play Pac Man, and much more!
*In regards to the COVID-19 Pandemic: this display is still hands-on, but we request that guests wash their hands in our bathrooms and use available hand sanitizer before & after touching items. These items are regularly cleaned by staff. We thank you for your assistance in keeping all of our guests and accessions safe and well!
